On January 18, a court in Hrodna fined a young woman 580 BYN ($227) for wearing white-and-red striped trousers. She was accused of violating regulations on holding mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences). The woman said she went for a walk in Hrodna, wearing striped trousers, with a coffee in hand, and spoke with another woman along the way. As they walked toward the youth center, riot police approached them from behind and instructed them to board a bus. As a result, the women spent the night in a temporary detention center.
